Dr. Richard D. Schubert graduated summa cum laude from the State University of New York Downstate Medical College, 1972. He completed internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital of the Harvard Medical School, and subsequently finished a Rheumatology fellowship there as well.
He has served as the President of the DC Rheumatism Association, the Osler Society, and the Washington Clinicopathologic Society, and is a fellow of the Metchnikoff Society. He is a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine and Rheumatology at Georgetown University Hospital. He has been cited the past ten times in Washingtonian Magazine as one of the “Best Doctors in D.C,” and was elected one of the “Best Doctors in America” for 2001-2012. In addition to practicing medicine, he is a published author of a novel, a birder and has an interest in renaissance art. He is married with three children.
