A life-long Washingtonian, Dr. Umhau graduated from Davidson College and then completed medical school at Duke University. His Internal Medicine residency was at Georgetown University, followed by a year as Chief Medical Resident. He has been practicing medicine with Foxhall Internists since 1989.
Dr. Umhau emphasizes general internal medicine, but has interests in adolescent and young adult medicine, medical problems of pregnancy, and cross-cultural issues. He is active in the local medical community.
